McPherson and State St. Sidewalk/ADA Improvements in Knob Noster
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is planning a $3.03 million dollar project to bring Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant sidewalks to portions of state-owned streets in Knob Noster, including State St. and McPherson St. This project is funded and managed by MoDOT and the City of Knob Noster is not involved. This project is also unrelated to the City's upcoming sidewalk replacement project downtown, although the projects will connect with each other. Property owners adjacent to the project area have begun receiving letters from MoDOT regarding their need to acquire additional easements and Right-of-Way for construction of the new sidewalk. The City is not involved in those negotiations, and as such property owners are encouraged to reach out to the MoDOT representatives for questions.
A Public Hearing on this project will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the First Christian Church, 101 S Monroe Ave., Knob Noster, MO, 65336. This is an open meeting and the public is invited to attend. Representatives from MoDOT will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
