Full-Timer Pub­lic Works Main­te­nance Worker

FULL TIME MAINTENANCE WORKER

Salary: $18.00/hr; plus full benefit program.

The City of Knob Noster is seeking an energetic individual to take on the responsibilities of a Full-Time Maintenance Worker for the Public Works department. Work will include the repair and maintenance of the City’s streets, parks and facilities, assisting with snow plow operations, and general duties as assigned by the Public Works Superintendent. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and applicant must be at least eighteen years of age. Minimum qualifications include: knowledge of safe and proper use of hand tools, string trimmers, mowers, powered equipment, trenchers, loaders and tractors. This position will remain open until filled. Candidate must successfully complete a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen.

Park and Rec Park-Time Maintenance Worker

SUMMARY:

Parks Maintenance is a part-time hourly position under the supervision of the City of Knob Noster. Parks Maintenance performs various manual tasks associated with the maintenance of the parks and grounds.

This position's characteristics and work schedule will vary depending 011 weather, seasonal events, and other conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs various tasks associated with infrastructure construction and maintenance.
• Operates a variety of hand and power tools in the completion of assigned tasks.
• Operates trucks, mowers, line trimmers, and other types of equipment.
• Performs basic operator maintenance on various equipment.
• Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
• Assists in all parks and recreation projects as required.
• Performs all duties in accordance with departmental safety procedures.
• Represents the City and department by performing a wide variety of functions at meetings, occasions, and public events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of

Proper cleaning, maintenance, and servicing of equipment.

EDUCATION/LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

This position pays $16.50 per hour and is seasonal part-time and will be 30 hours or less a week April through October. Scheduled work hours are 8:00 am to 2:00pm with a 30-minute lunch, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary according to weather conditions or by supervisory authorization

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.

• Performs bending, squatting, climbing, twisting, kneeling, and reaching ground level and overhead.
• Holds and grips objects and is subject to working in awkward positions and prolonged walking, silting, or standing.
• Lifts and/or carries up to sixty (60) pounds, pushes and/or pulls up to one hundred (100) pounds with assistance as required.
• Work in confined spaces.
• Adequate hearing ability for working in dangerous areas

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Employee may be

• Exposed to extreme weather conditions, hazardous chemicals, dust, fumes, gases, odors, mists, or other irritating particles of organic and inorganic nature.
• Exposed to slippery or uneven walking surfaces and other types of terrain
• Exposed to vibration and constant and extreme noise that is usually moderate to loud
• Exposed to mechanical hazards associated with equipment repair and electrical hazards.
• Subject to safety hazards due to traffic, weather, and other conditions encountered in daily Parks operations.
